What’s it like to be a body right now?
Somatic personal Training, Embodiment Coaching, and Counseling in Portland, Oregon
Hi, I'm Beck Beverage (they/them), a personal trainer and therapist-in-training. I offer personal training, embodiment coaching, and counseling. My work brings together functional strength training, somatic practice, ecological approaches to movement, and Processwork. For over a decade, much of my work has been with queer, trans, and neurodivergent people here in Portland.
I believe that amidst the exhaustion, fear, and stress we may feel, our bodies aren't broken; they're responding to the world around us. We're doing the best we can with the tools we've learned so far, and our bodies have carried us through it all.
That’s why I train with real-world tools like sandbags, kettlebells, calisthenics, and functional movement patterns that mirror the way bodies move outside of the gym. Together we’ll build adaptable strength, resilience, and awareness through movement practice.
Remembering and relating to our bodies through movement, nature, and somatic practices, we can begin to liberate ourselves and future generations from the systems that thrive on disconnection.
My approach is inspired by the natural world, blending scientific and imaginal perspectives to create collaborative, personalized, process-oriented sessions rooted in curiosity.
Curious about working together? Let’s meet and explore the possibilities.

Your movement practice is unique to you. Whether you’re navigating physical challenges, exploring new movement practices, or on a quest for adventure, your experiences and desires matter.
Let’s create an adaptable practice together that responds to you and your body as you are. This is an experience-focused space—not a medicalized, diagnostic, or prescriptive one.
-
We’re in this together. Drawing from my extensive background and diverse training, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective to our sessions. Your insights, experiences, knowledge, and dreams are essential parts of the process.
-
What would it be like to approach this process through the lens of exploration? Let’s bring play, existential questions, the grief of the moment, and whatever else is alive for you into our time together.
-
Influenced by Processwork, I approach movement with curiosity about what is already happening rather than assuming in advance what needs to change. Our work takes shape in response to your needs, preferences, experiences, and what emerges from session to session.
Are you Looking for…
Counseling
Through conversation and experiential sessions, we’ll work with the process that’s emerging for you in your life. My approach is psychodynamic and weaves together liberation psychology, somatics, nature and forest therapy, and dreamwork. Sessions together are collaborative, experiential, warm, and relational.
Personal training
Personal training together is about building strength you can carry into your everyday life. Using sandbags, odd objects, and functional movements, we’ll train in ways that adapt to your body and your goals. Traditional gyms aren’t for everyone. Here, the focus is on creating workouts that feel meaningful, accessible, and empowering.
Something Else
Have a different collaboration in mind? I'm an experienced facilitator, teacher, and consultant and can host a training for your organization, teach at your retreat, design prgramming for your gym or organization, or consult on a project. . Let's discuss how we can work together to bring your vision to life.
